Fairy Decor...
Create Enchanted Nursery

The fairy decor gives the nursery an enchanted feel.

Fairies, and especially Tinkerbell, are another highly popular theme for girls. Since angels and fairies are delicate, pretty with magical powers, it is perhaps an apt description of your tiny baby. She has cast her spell on you...and you want to shout it from the rooftops (or at least from her nursery window!)

Once again, popular themes such as Fairy decor, do not imply boring copycat nursery ideas. There are a number of ways to create the magical, enchanted look you want for the baby nursery. You are limited only by your own creativity.

1. Choose Furniture to Create the Delicate Feel.

The best way to incorporate the fairy or angelic feel to the room is to opt for nursery furniture that provides the look. Of course, nursery cribs and other furniture needs to be sturdy and safe. The delicate look can be acquired through the canopy of the crib or a delicately carved design. White enhances the delicate style in the room.

2. Fabric and Furnishings Can Enhance the Theme.

A crib bedding set will bring out the theme of the baby nursery. It is not necessary to show fairies or angels in the bedding. Use the look of the crib bedding to match it to the fairy decor. Try to think of related items, fairies, gardens, flowers, wings, fairy dust, unicorns.

Check out the many Fairy Bedding options before you finalize your purchase.

3. Cherubic Lighting Sets the Mood.

You do not want to overdo the theme in the room. The lighting will set the mood for the baby nursery. Remember our tips on kids lighting. We were particularly drawn to these colorful chandeliers below. They have an intricate delicate look and the colors complement the white furniture beautifully. However, you could also go for white chandeliers with cherubs for the thematic representation and add color through other wall and room decor items.

4. Let the Theme Adorn the Walls.

It is so much easier to show your theme through pictures. Put up murals, wall hangings, giclees with fairies dancing, flitting and sitting around the room. Surround your little angel with such beautiful visions of fairy decor. Let her grow up in a magical world with beautiful stories of make believe. It is the most beautiful gift for a child.

5. The Room Decor Completes the Look.

Once you have chosen the furniture, bedding, lights and wall art, the nursery will already take on an enchanted look. Complete the theme with some inexpensive room decor items. If you feel the theme is already highlighted through other pieces, keep the room decor items neutral so they can have a longer life. Rugs, peg racks, storage boxes, mirror; are all items that can endure through the nursery and well into the toddler years and maybe even the tweens.

6. Tinkerbell and Peter Pan.

The characters of Tinkerbell and Peter Pan are often used to depict the fairy decor theme for girls and boys. Check out the widget above. Or you could also find rugs, wall art, appliques, wallpaper, growth charts etc showing Tinkerbell.

Whimsical themes such as angel or fairy include many mini themes within them. This allows the theme to grow with the child. Most girls will be pleased with the fairy decor look for many years. But if your tween should later decide to change, the butterflies, enchanted garden or flowers used in the baby nursery will continue to intrigue her.
